Serenity Ranch Kennels Trains your dog to learn over 10 Obedience Commands.
Your dog will be able to learn all of the following commands in each of our Board & Train Programs.
We train your dog to be attentive to their name. It’s very important that you start each new command with their name if your dog is distracted or has not been on command for some time!
Is used to mark bad behavior of any kind. An example would be “if your dog is barking incessantly” the command would be “no, hush”.
If your dog does not comply with what you’ve asked or happens to break any command you have given, it’s important that you mark that behavior with no and correct, then restate the command. It’s extremely important that you put the dog back in the same position that they were prior to the mistake.
An example would be if you ask your dog to sit and they came off of that particular command you would simply say no, correct, then sit, and put them back in the same spot. When you say the word no use your leash to administer the correction which is pulling quickly on the leash in a downward motion. Then re-state the command.
Use leash guidance if necessary to help your dog fully understand what you’re asking. Praise for a good performance when they are in compliance. Treat occasionally but don’t over treat or be overly affectionate.
